Clayton Hale | President
Clayton Hale has served in the healthcare industry for over 35 years, beginning as a local representative for a healthcare supplier. In 1987, he began in the AP recovery business and formed a premier accounts payable recovery firm. With efforts by invaluable team members, over 1,600 payables and pricing audits were completed during its 22-year tenure. Under the leadership of Clayton, we have assembled healthcare industry experts in each of their respective fields. Each person plays an integral roll in our consulting process. The objective of Contract Management Strategies is to provide quality consultative services for our clients to assist in recovering lost dollars and in the prevention of losses in the future.
Chris Ahlgrim | Senior Auditor
Chris Ahlgrim began his career in the healthcare audit industry in 2003 when he joined Contract Management Strategies as an analyst. Chris’ education in accounting and risk management, coupled with his experience with contracts and pricing analysis, has made him a vital asset to our clients. Chris’ role with Contract Management Strategies is aimed at providing clients with cost reduction strategies, identifying and recovering overcharges, and internal control planning.
Steve Ahlgrim | Vice President of Operations
Steve Ahlgrim has worked in the healthcare industry for 25 years, including several positions in materials management for prestigious local for-profit hospitals. Additionally, Steve has worked as an accounts payable recovery auditor for 10 years. Prior to forming Contract Management Strategies, Steve owned his own successful healthcare audit company and understands the intricacies of running an accounts payable firm as well as providing quality service to valuable clients. Steve's expertise is pricing analysis and assisting clients in determining proper pricing tiers, including how to qualify for even better prices.
Diane Buaas | Vice President, State & Local Tax
Dave Faulkner | Senior Auditor
Dave has served the healthcare industry for thirty years starting as a representative for a national laboratory supplier. In 1993 he began a career in hospital recovery audits specializing in contract pricing. He is especially proficient in laboratory contracts and has successfully found and recovered significant amounts of money due to overcharges in this area as well as med/surgical areas. Dave has also helped clients write, implement, and monitor pricing agreements with hospital suppliers.
Joe Harrigan | Vice President, Senior Audit Manager
Joe Harrigan began his financial career over 30 years ago as Internal Auditor and Controller for a prominent New England retailer. Later, Joe transitioned into the position of Senior Auditor and became a partner with RSI, Inc., a New England Accounts Payable Recovery firm. Joe has performed AP recovery audits for various industries including healthcare, retail, manufacturing and government over the last decade. Joe joined our CMS team in Spring 2004 as Senior Audit Manager and continues to utilize his experience and analytical skills to provide valuable advice on improving overpayments for our clients.
Rhonda Hoff | Vice President of Pharmacy Services
Rhonda Hoff began her career in the healthcare recovery business after acquiring a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Her primary focus has been on recoveries pertaining to pricing errors. A comprehensive review of either local or national agreements between the hospital and group purchasing organization is completed for each hospital. Rhonda has developed relationships with many distributors, manufacturers and group purchasing organizations thereby providing Materials Management with in-depth knowledge of the intricacies of pricing contracts.
Lisa Lampe | Auditor
Lisa Lampe began her career in the healthcare recovery business eight years ago. Her primary focus is in the recovery of duplicate payments, statement auditing, and unclaimed property. With years of experience working with the same vendors, she has formed invaluable working relations with many key credit managers throughout the industry. Her inquiries are always welcomed by her contacts as they look forward to speaking with her. Lisa's experience extends further than the healthcare business. She has also succesfully recoverd millions of dollars for many prominent grocery, retail and pharmaceutical companies as well as state and federal government entities.
Vern Mann | Vice President of Business Development
Vern Mann has 30 years experience in finance having held positions as Controller, CFO and VP of Finance. He has spent the last seventeen years working with hospitals providing accounts payable recovery audits. His expertise in identifying and analyzing hospital needs has resulted in recovery services to over 1000 hospital audits nationally which equates to 250,000 licensed beds over the last six years. Applying his analytical and management skills to hospital audits enhances the results for our hospital clients.
Bob Wood | Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Bob Wood spent the first 18 years of his career in healthcare distribution sales, regional management, and V.P. of Marketing. He has spent the last 9 years working in healthcare accounts payable recovery. Bob uses his experience in working with hospitals in the distribution business to recover monies from the most reluctant vendors. In one year Bob recovered over one million of overpaid sales tax. Bob brings a real sense of expertise and advice to new and existing clients of Contract Management Strategies, Inc.
Jason White | Administrator
Jason White attained his BA in Business – Marketing from California State University, Fullerton. Jason joined the CMS team in 2004. By putting together vendor contact mailings and receiving statement responses, he is able to receive and identify claims for quick turnaround. With training in document management, he helps clients view, find and keep track of their important documents as well as helping to oversee the Scanning department. As a central link in the chain of workflow, Jason helps auditors track their clients’ progress with status updates from the corporate office while the auditors are on location.
Chris Crump | Auditor
Chris Crump joined the Contract Management Strategies, Inc. team in 2007 as an overpayment analyst. His strong financial background and accounting experience have made him a valuable asset to our clients, as well as a cornerstone of our company. Although primarily focused on recovering overpayments from vendors and assisting clients with cost-reduction, he has also become an integral part in the expansion of our tax recovery division. With over 75 audits and over $8 billion in purchases analyzed, Chris has built lasting relationships with clients and vendors all over the nation. His leadership and dedication exemplifies the ideas and ethics that Contract Management Strategies, Inc. was founded on.
After attending Arizona State University, Joshua began his auditing career working with hospitals and their pharmacies in the Southern California area. He applied a blend of inventive and unique techniques to audit billions of pharmaceutical transactions and recover millions of pharmacy overpayments for clients nationwide. Over two hundred hospitals have recovered pharmacy overpayments due to Joshua’s diligence and attention to detail. For the last three years, he has been an integral part of Contract Management Strategies, Inc.’s pharmacy recovery business, giving clients the confidence they deserve with their pharmacy transactions.
Wanda Youngblood has over 30 years of varied experience in the healthcare industry. Starting as a Pharmacy Technician, Wanda was also responsible for drug purchases and inventory management. For over 20 years she worked for a major wholesaler dealing with various aspects of the business, including as a national corporate buyer. A former Pharmacy Trade Relations Manager to a major contractual firm, Wanda’s expertise in implementation and compliance management of the 340B program saved substantial dollar amounts for major hospital cancer centers. Her experience ensures that Contract Management Strategies, Inc.’s customers receive invaluable insight into their pharmacy operations.
